Can't Remove Norton Protected Recycle Bin

I removed Norton a long time ago, and I run Avira...I've also ran the 'Norton Removal Tool' MajorGeeks recommends, and again, after rebooting...still got that damned bin...

So *first* thing I do is search on here--and a google--and of course, the other place I'm sent to is the service1.symantec site, where they have system specific removal tools...but that doesn't work *either* for me, as when I right click, and hit "properties", there are only *two* tabs at the top, one for 'Global' and one for 'local disk c:' ...in other words, no generic 'recycle bin' or anything else...

This really does kind of suck: I detest Norton, and don't really like the arrogance of making it so hard to remove their little crapware...

I've spent hrs on this, so I'm turning to my court of last resort...as usual...

I have to agree with you I also think Norton sucks. Well if you googled it you must have tried Norton’s manual uninstall

what you don’t mention is if you have deleted all the Symantec\Norton Antivirus keys in the registry . Do a registry back up first.

 

Well, I've deleted every instance of Norton or Symantec I could find on computer, including searches of all files, and this is what's left....

And yes, I *have* used the Symantec Site...and that's where the problem lies: I have no "Recycle Bin" tab, just the 'global' and the 'c:' tab...

I'm probably way off base, but somehow it seems as if I've got the Norton *Name* imprinted on my regular recycle bin...maybe I'll try reinstalling the norton systemworks I got this from, see if I can do something w/that...but of course, then I'll have start all over, removing everything...
