All the programs are on the list but the add/remove button are gone from some of the programs.

Also, upd.netbios-wait.com [66.220.17.200] keeps trying to access my internet.

    Please help, THanks!

    Try this:

Click Start, Run and type REGEDIT. This starts the Registry Editor. Navigate to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    \SOFTWARE
    \Microsoft
    \Windows
    \CurrentVersion
    \Uninstall
    \<Program Name>

In the right-pane, do the following:

Double-click NoRemove (REG_DWORD) and set it to 0
Double-click NoModify (REG_DWORD) and set it to 0

If NoRemove is set to 1, the Remove button will be unavailable
If NoModify is set to 1, the Change button will be unavailable

My problem is the programs that do not have the change/remove button on the add/remove list are not found in the regedit destination list you gave me. This is so strange. Please help.

When I checked this morning upd.netbios-wait.com [66.220.17.200] tried accessing my internet 8 times during the night.

If some site is trying to access your pc without your permission you may have a form of malware... just to be safe follow the instructions in this thread http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407 and then make a post in the malware forum. They should be able to determine if thats the problem :)

Under the Uninstall key in the registry, there are a lot of entries with long number sequences. Did you click on each number entry and look in the right pane for "Display Name"?

    Hi All,

I'm encountering the exact same problem. I'm also not able to uninstall many of the programs in my add/remove list.
The problematic programs are not available in the registry path mentioned above. I've also looked at the entries with the long number sequence names, but these do not contain the problematic programs either.
I've also installed a 3rd party uninstaller software, but the problematic programs are not shown there at all either...

    This really sucks :-(
Any assistance would be extremely appreciated!

Are these programs actually still installed? Sometimes the add/remove list will still show entries for programs that have been uninstalled.

In my case the programs are still installed.
For some programs I can work around this by going to the program folder and uninstall from there, but for others (for example, if I want to uninstall older versions of MS .NET framework) - I don't know how to do it from anywhere else

The programs are installed. I have something (upd.netbios-wait.com [66.220.17.200]) and ccleaner AVG, Ad aware, Spy Bot and Windows Defender cant find it.

I did a search for that IP address on WHOIS, it's registered to C2 Media Ltd, makers of the lop spyware. You should run the procedure in READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide to get that off your machine.

Agreed. We seem to have an outbreak of this sort of problem lately. Also, did you perchance run any registry cleaners?

    Yes I ran Registry Mechanic.

There is a possibility it removed the uninstall registry entries. Does it make backups you can restore?
