Cant run ANY programs in Normal Mode

Hey guys today in the morning my computer was working fine and I tried to put songs on my iPod but Frostwire wouldnt open so I thought I'd leave my computer on while I go work out and when I come back it's ready.

So 2-3 hours later I'm back to find out FrostWire still hadn't opened.
I thought it was strange but didnt mind. I just restarted my computer but when it turned on I couldn't open any program or files.

I just click it and the little clock think would pop up and nothing happens after that. I try to open Firefox but it doesn't open at all either so I try opening Safari.

It opens up but for like 1 second they just abruptly closes. I cant open Windows Media Player or Notepad, I tried doing a system Restore but it doesnt open up either. What should I do? Is this a virus or what?

I'm currently running in Safe Mode with Networking where everything works fine except my Antivirus which says isn't respoding.

This just started happening today out of the blue so does anyone know how to resolve this? Thanks in advance.

 

Can you do system restore from Safe mode?

You don't get any error message when you try to open a program? Just the hourglass? Then what happens the hourglass goes away?

 

None at all.

It just doesn't open period.
It's very strange.
I found some viruses with my Antimalware but could it have been too late?
