Do all that you can in safe mode for the time being .....be sure that you uninstall anything that may be malware in the add/remove program list.Finish the items in step 5 -- all of them ...and then step 6 = From step 5 you should already be in safe mode but you will need to reconnect your cable now and possibly reboot and choose Safe Mode with Networking Support..

Continue with that and post what logs you can....we can not help without knowing what is going on inside your computer.

Please find and delete this item:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Dennis\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\PowerReg Scheduler.exe

Please use add/remove programs to uninstall:
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 10
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 11

Run HijackThis and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

Please copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.

Now see if you can run Counterspy and get a log.

Now see how things are running and see if you can do the scans in normal mode.

    Then attach new logs for:
    GetRun
    ShowNew
    HJT

Are you now able to boot into normal mode?
You need to tell me how things are running or what problems you are having.

Can you run msconfig from safe mode and see what is in the start up tab and also in the services tab (check the box to hide all MS services). Have you set the computer to show all hidden files and folders?

You have multiple anti-viruses running, which is a no no....
Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security 2006
    Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal Pro
PCPitstop---which appears to be either partially installed or partially uninstalled.

You need to uninstall all but one.

You also have Spyware Doctor 4 and 5 ....are these trial or paid for versions? Uninstall one.

RegCure ....is this a trail or paid for program, and did you use it to do any registry changes?

You did not tell me what is listed in services and in the startup tab in msconfig.

Can you do anything in normal mode if you disconnect from the internet and then boot?

Based on what info I am seeing ....I suspect that you have a corrupt registry. Which may require you to slave the hard drive to another computer, save your documents and settings and then reformat and reinstall xp.

The repair has to be done with the version installed - xp home.
