can't run MSN...

    I have no freakin idea what has happened.... just yesterday it would run on startup normally. Now I click on the icon and nothing happens. All files are in place, I uninstalled and reinstalled 2 different versions yet the same thing happens.

    Anyone knows what's causing this?

    Hi Sailor


    What is OS and what version of MSN Messenger you using?

    Have you rebooted your modem/router?

    Also try this, click start > run and in the run box type cmd to bring up the command console window ( if Vista needs to be from elevated CMD, so run as admin ) and once the CMD window is open type or paste this line netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled

    Thanks for the reply Halo.

    I'm on Windows XP Pro sp2 and by the time this started I was on MSN version 8.1. Then I downloaded 8.5 from MG and installed it but nothing changed. I switched back to 8.1, still nothing.

    The command won't work, it says that "netsh" is not recognized.....


    got a plan B, right?:cry

    lol, problem fixed as suddenly as it appeared. I just rebooted the PC and.... voila!

    Strange goings on in Greece today then Sailor, but glad its back for you as I didnt have a plan B ;) Phew!!!
