Can't save Quicktime Prefrences in XP

I recently downloaded Quicktime 6.5.2 and am running
it on Windows XP. Whenever I click on Quicktime audio
link on a website, a popup comes up stating that " In
order to function properly, quicktime needs to know
your connection speed" with just OK button on it. When
I press the OK button, I get the QuickTime Settings
window. I set the speed but seems like the settings
are not saved because when I close the window,
the popup pops again. The same thing happens all over
again whenever I click on quicktime link.


Any help would be highly appreciated
