I'm in a bit of a pickle. My computer (which runs Windows xp) has decided it no longer wants to send a signal to my monitor (currently using another computer to post this). I can't really think of a way to fix this because you generally need to see what you are doing to fix a computer. I've tried hooking up a different monitor but it didn't work. I still get no video output from my computer. So what, if anything, can I do? I'm stumped here.

Install a video card because the video chip on your motherboard has died.

So I'm boned, until I can open up the computer and install a new video card (it was running an Nvidia card.) ?

What brand and model of computer is the one lacking the video output?

You say it's running an nVidia graphics card. But we don't know if it's an integrated type card or an add-on type card. If it's the integrated type, you'll have to purchase an add-on type compatible with the computer. If it's an add-on type, you may be able obtain a direct replacement of the same model graphics card. In either case though, you'll have to (re)install the video driver.
