Can't see HD

I have two accounts, and adminstrative account named Louis and a limited account named Matthew. I run dual hard drives I was wondering if I can make matthew not see the second hard drive?

 

I'm not sure how to make it invisible (or if you even can) but you can deny access to the hard drive. Just go to My Computer, right click on the drive and select properties. Then choose the Security Tab. Make sure to select Deny for all the boxes under "Everyone". Then change Matthew's permissions to Deny all. This will allow him to see the drive, but won't be able to look at anything in it.

 

The security tab isn't there, the only tabs I see are General, Tools, Hardware, Sharing, and Qouta.

 

That means you probably have a FAT32 file system. What operating system are you running?

 

I am running XP and my harddrive is in NTFS

 

Are you sure? If the file system is NTFS and you are logged in as an administrator, you should see the Security tab.

 

Nope, he's prolly running xp home, which doesn't have that security tab. Here's how you get that security tab for xp home:

Download this file:

http://ftp.yars.free.net/pub/software/windows/winnt/secconfig/scesp4i.exe

Extract it to a folder on your computer, then right click setup.inf and click install. Restart your computer and you should have that tab (you may not even need to restart, I tested it, and I didn't need to) . Then just follow Wyatt_Earp's instructions.
