Can't see my graphics in MS Office 2003 files

I have been using MS Office 2003 without any problems until today when I discovered that I can't see the graphics in any of my existing documents. If I open a new document and insert a photo, it appears to do it - the handles are there but there is no picture. This is affecting both MS Publisher and MS PowerPoint files.

Has anyone any suggestions? I have uninstalled and reinstalled MS Office 2003, but it has made no difference at all. I can't think what has happened and would appreciate any suggestions you may have.

Don't use Normal view. Switch your view to Print Layout or Web Layout.

    As far as I know, "it's not a bug, it's a feature". :(

Edit: Wait... nevermind. I'm an idiot. Ignore me....

Thanks... but it isn't that simple cos it is in the normal view that I always use.

I have just disabled Norton and now my graphics are back... I don't understand this, but it is working again! Thanks.

And now they are gone again - HELP!!! It only seems to be affecting Publisher and Powerpoint. I have uninstalled and reinstalled MS Office and I removed Norton and installed AVG anti-virus and run it - no virus found.

Have you checked under View->pictures is set to fast or detailed

    Set to 'Detailed'.

This sometimes works, switch the option to hide pictures, close publisher, restart publisher, load the document/project and switch it back to detailed/fast view.

At the moment I can't think of anything else but will continue thinking about it

Thanks, easy peasy. I got it sorted yesterday by uninstalling Publisher and Powerpoint and then reinstalling them and then repairing the whole of MS Office. I had tried everything I could think of, including what you have suggested and finally resorted to this and it has worked - don't know why, don't know how, but I am not complaining! I was able to finish the project I was working on! Thanks for you help, anyway.
