Can't send mail through OE6

Whenever I try to send mail from OE6 I get the following error message :

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'MyRealBox', Server: 'smtp.myrealbox.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

This is happening for the last 3-4 days. Previously everything was fine. What could be the error?

It is also possible that your ISP is blocking SMTP email because of spamming they may have done this lately as anti spam is a buzz word with ISPs of late........ phone them or email and ask if they are blocking external SMTP email, if so ask them for their SMTP server address as you should still be able to send MYREALBOX email via their SMTP.

Access is through cable internet. I solved the problem by entering my ISP's outgoing mail server address in the config.

Question is I was using smtp.myrealbox.com (default outgoing server as provided by MyRealBox.com) to send mails till last week. What has happened now that I can't send mails using that server? I even did a clean install to see if I had messed up some settings. But even that did not solve this problem.

As I said I am now using my ISP's outgoing mail server address to send mails.

My answer above is a real possibility but unless you ask your ISP you wont know for sure!

also I took the time to read myrealbox.com's help and support pages over my morning caffeine fix http://www.myrealbox.com/a?.BQ.DBw.Z8.BQ.d#A02 and they say similar.
