I can't access the ip address of my router (192.168.1.1) I tried to google my problem but none of them worked.

I tried resetting my router ..and I even tried opening my default gateway (192.168.254.1) via browser but it redirects to my isp's log in page in which, I can't manage to enter because only the technicians have the access to it.

I was planning to change manually my default gateway in order to access my router, but I wanna ask opinions to you guys because I'm just a newbie.

Ohmy, please help me, I'm really pissed of with my neighbors who always steal my wi-fi connection
    :mad

    (221, 160, 221)"]Btw, my linksys router model is WRT54G2 V1

    Welcome to the forum Yatchiie.

On the WRT54G routers to do a full factory reset, press and HOLD the reset button for about 20-30 seconds, release the button then unplug the router, give it about 15 seconds then plug it back in.

This should get you access at http://192.168.1.1 IF you are connected to it. The default SSID will be "Linksys" if you want to connect by wifi but I recommend a wired connection initially.

To block your neighbors, change the password, change the SSID and don't broadcast it, add MAC filtering and add encryption. You could also place the router at the farthest location in your home or apartment from them to make the signal as weak as possible for them.

I already tried resetting my router but still, same results

I'm really confused, why do I have different default gateway
Whenever I open that ip, it redirects to the log-in page of my modem (I have no access to that and that's not what I wanted to access)

You have not successfully rest the router. If you had, the Gateway address would be 192.168.1.1

To do the reset, While the router is powered on, press and hold the reset button for 20-30 seconds. Then restart it. If the result is the same, press and hold the reset button for 60 seconds.

Or your ethernet cable is running to the modem instead of the router by accident. Double check that you are plugged into the router.

I would unplug all ethernet cables from the modem while you do the setups and you won't have to worry about get directed to that page by accident.

(hi shnerdly, please excuse my stomping in here. You help everyone tirelessly and I wanted to save you an extra post in case what I suspect applies here.)

No worries handygal, it usually works out well when things are looked at from multiple perspectives.
