Can't shut down - Windows XP Pro

undefinedundefinedundefinedHave Windows XP Pro and tons of stuff loaded on. Can't shut windows down. All program icons begin to disappear and then it's just me and the wall paper. I have Zone Alarm running and Panda antivirus. Don't know my way around teckie talk but definitely need help here. Lately all I do is push the off button. Starts up in AM, but takes forever it seems (3 minutes for everything to come up) Went into Start Up and cleared most items out that weren't really necessary. Any ideas?

 

Sounds like a virus or spyware or adware or malware. Please look in the spyware forums to follow instructions on how to rid and prevent this from happening.
