Can't totally remove Avira AntiVir--error message?

I tried to remove Avira AntiVir myself and I think I screwed up. :-o I tried the "Uninstall" measure, and I get this pop-up whenever I try to log on to Windows 2000:

avgnt.exe - Unable to Locate DLL

The dynamic link library mfc90u.dll could not be found in the specified path C:\Program Files\Avira\Antivir Desktop;.;C:\WINNT\system32;C:WINNT\system;C:\WINNT;C:\WINNT\system32;C:\WINNT;C:\WINNT\System32\Wbem;C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tool\;G:\Rachel Bodine\2.0\bin.

I can click on the "OK" button and get on with my life, but to have this pop-up all time is annoying, plus the fact that I can't totally uninstall AnitVir or re-install the newer version. HELP!! (Please!!) and Thanks in advance!

Sikvik--thanks for the link--I tried it, and it went OK until I went to delete the entries it brought up--I don't speak German, but I could figure out that it was saying "there's an error with one or more keys", so it didn't delete them! I even went down the list, trying to delete them one at a time, and got the same thing every time. Thank for trying! Anyone else?? :-(

 

Try safe mode.. F8 at boot. Is it listed in Control panel Add/remove?
