cant turn mike off

Hi I have a HP Pavillion dv7, Windows 7, when i try to broadcast some self help videos on Justin Tv I am using Manycammax and Adobe Flash Medis Live while the video is being streamed the microphone built into the laptop is picking up me talking. I have clicked on the speaker in the task bar beside the clock, i cant find anywhere to shut the mike off. Any help would be appreciated

thanks for your time but if i go to control>sound... When I go to sound and goto recording and shut the mke of it also shuts off the output sound of the movie i am streaming. I need to find out why

 

Mute the mike in the Sound control panel. Mic's are going to be hot all the time, when you turn on the computer. Here is some info at microsoft.com http://search.microsoft.com/results...=en-us&setlang=en-us&q=how to mute microphone

This is how you do it in XP:

To turn your microphone on or off

1.
On the Language bar, click Microphone http://img.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/microphone.gif to turn it on.

Click Microphone again to turn it off.

•Some headsets have a Mute button that allows you to turn your microphone on or off. The headset's Mute button overrides the button on the Language bar.
•You can also say the command "microphone" to turn the microphone off.
•Keyboard shortcut: Use http://img.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/winkey.gif +V to turn your microphone on or off.

Windows Vista & 7:

There's a mute button that mutes the microphone.
It is located at the Recording tab-> Microphone->Properties->Levels tab (Windows 7)
