Can anyone help me out, my HP (DV6000) laptop has a switch on the front for turning the wireless adaptor on, however, I cant actually turn it on no matter where I put the switch, can anyone help? I have tried unplugging the cable from the desktop and plugging into the laptop and I can then connect to the internet with no problems.

You may want to check your drivers in Device Manager.
Make sure it is enabled, try disabling then re-enabling it.
If it is in your switch - perhaps none of this will work, but may be worth a try.

In searching for HP DV6000 + wireless stopped working
    I found this:

Looks like many are experiencing this issue - you may want to look there - some are saying this is a hardware issue. In case yours is not - you may want to look into un-installing and re-installing your wireless.
Some think the problem started after a Windows update.

    Best of Luck
