can't uninstall/finish install of autocad

I have tried to install autocad 2002 on a win98se computer but install was halted before product was fully insalled. Now I can not install or uninstall autocad. I tried add/remove programs, unchecking auto exec entry, uninstalling other programs. nothing seems to work.

 

Welcome to MG. Seeing that the "correct" way of uninstalling didn't work, may I suggest just deleting the folder and all its contents. Then run a Registry Cleaner to delete any entries form the Registry. Just out of curiousity, are your specs (w98SE, etc) powerful enough to run Autocad 2002. I've never used Autocad, but I remember in the early days, that Autocad was pretty hardware intensive/specific. Have you enough free space on your hard drive?

Excuse me, if these questions seem basic, but we will help where we can.

What are your PC specs (other than W98SE)?
How much RAM?
What CPU?
How much free space on your hard drive?
What graphics card?
What resolution are you using on your Graphics card? (1024 x 768, etc.).

I have autocad2005 on the same machine(different harddrive and win 2000pro) and it runs fine. But I dont have a problem running 2002. It never fully installed. I recieved an illegal operation error before install was complete. Win98 is supposed to suport 2002 but maybe not. What regestry cleaner would you suggest and where could I get it. Thanks for your help.

BTW, AutoCad 2002 supports Windows 98 SE.
