Cant uninstall Java

Hello Geeks

I've recently been having problems with Java
I somehow cant uninstall nor re-install it...
First of, it doenst show up in Revo (a uninstaller software).
I does however show up in add/remove programms :confused
Well actually, it DID show up.
But when i tried to uninstall it it gave me an error saying something about a missing DLL.

I looked in the internet and found out that many other people seem to be having the same problem. Some solved it but none of the solutions seemed to work for me

I ran CCleaner more then 1 time and downloaded 2 other 'cleaners' which i also used. They both found thousands of errors^^, but didnt fix java...

So then, I tried deleting everything on my computer java related (thats probably why add/remove programms doesnt show java anymore)
I deleted all folders on C with the name java and also all the items.
Then i looked through the registry and searched 'java' and 'javaw' and deleted all kinds of folders/entries there too.

But STILL Java isnt fully uninstalled :cry
I know because if i want to install Java again it says I already have Java on my computer, and asks if i would like to re-install it. However if I click 'yes' ('no' cancels the installation) it says:

(windows installer is the name of the window.



Im really stuck here if someone could help me out that'd be really nice

I take it that you are trying to remove the Java Runtime Environment, (JRE6)

Use the Uninstall / remove Java runtime environment JRE old versions

And a new update JRE6 v23 is available today.

Try uninstalling everything in safe mode even the items you said you found in the registry " REMEMBER ALWAYS BACKUP YOUR REGISTRY BEFORE MESSING WITH IT " then reboot then try reinstalling !

 

I dont really know what solved the problem...
I'm not even sure if the problem is solved >.>

First of, I of course did make a back up of my registry
And I already had deleted the files i found.


Now, I tried this uninstaller dave.m suggested.
Im not quite sure it worked since the 'searches' only took about 0.1 seconds and the programm also had problems making a log file or something like that.
Then I tried installing it again, this time however not the version i already had but the new version and it seemed to work at first, but right before finishing installing it said windows installer was missing a DLL.

However, I does seem to be installed since I can now play a game which requires java (I couldnt play it before, when Java was messed up)

So I dont know if it now is fully installed or not. Guess im just gonna hae to find out^^


So the problem was probably caused by the windows installer...


Anyways thx for your help! If I run into more problems in the future i know where to ask
