I am looking for an unistalling software, i cannot remove some software via the control panel it just loads and says ''unistalling'' and then the progress bar is stuck at about 25% and doesn't advance anymore ( the longest i waited was 2 hrs).

Because a lot of free software has toolbars it installs ( which i make sure i uncheck) and other software most people wont want, i figured i would would go with a portable version of this software.

Well i found this one here: http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/iobit_uninstaller_portable.html

However once i click on it it actually prompts me to install? The whole point of picking the portable one is so it won't install on my computer..

Try downloading and installing Revo Uninstaller to see if that picks up the software and removes it.

The portable version of Revo Uninstaller doesn't instal. Here's the link to the download from VS Revo Group.

    http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html

Scroll down and next to 'Revo Uninstaller Freeware Portable' click the blue download button.

PS I realise you asked for IOBit Uninstaller but, I only recommend programs I use or have used.

I carry Revo Uninstaller portable on a USB stick for use on senior citizens' computers that I may want to clean out old programs.

Note: The free Revo will not "find" 64 bit programs installed.

If you need to remove 64 bit programs, either paid Revo or free Advanced Uninstaller Free. The latter has lots of things but I only ever use the uninstaller part of it.

To remove unwanted toolbars and assorted junk that tags along with programs, use Adwcleaner and Junkware Removal Tool.

I am trying revo but i am unable to still uninstall the program. In one of my posts i mentioned that the built in uninstaller from the actual program i am trying to remove just gets stuck and never proceeds even if i wait hours.

Well right now i am using revo portable version and its i picked the ''advanced mode''. It goes to step 3 and then gets stuck... step 3= Starting applications built in uninstaller.

This is my problem.. the applications built in uninstaller is faulty any of these ''uninstalling'' software that tries to run the applications built in uninstaller that i am trying to remove will just get the same result i get from me manually doing it via control panel.

Right now i wait 45 minutes already and i can already tell it will not proceed further, it won't go to step 4 unless step 3 completes which it never will..

Because of this, I don't think IOBit Uninstaller will remove the program. But, it's worth a try. You can get the portable version from PortableApps.com.

BTW What program are you trying to uninstall?

Its a movie player converter that i got with a cheap hd camcorder

It just doesn't advance to uninstall and i can't seem to find a way to uninstall program because the built in uninstaller is faulty.

The movie player converter for the hd camcorder works good, however i found a better software than this and it was on sale so i just started using the later. Seeing as i found the software that came with the camcorder worthless at this point i decided to uninstall it at which point i find out the uninstaller built in is faulty and can't.

When i exit the built in uninstaller i get a windows error '' application has stopped working'' i put close and the application is uninstall screen is still there it won't go away until i restart my computer.

    I have windows 7 home premium 64 bit, sp1

This issue has only ever happened with this program

Well i reinstalled again like recommended on top of the previous install so it could overwrite it.

I ran the built in uninstaller from the program and yet again it froze at the same percentage ( 25% progress bar), and it was sitting there for about 35 minutes. So i canceled and got a program error, and saw that the software was still there.

I restarted my computer , and to my surprise its no longer in my start menu drop list, nor in my control panel, one of the folders from the registry pertaining to it also seems to be gone. So i guess it just decided to finally uninstall.
