    I have an Asus laptop...

    Field Value
    Motherboard ID 63-0601-000010-00101111-042106-Calistoga$A0504000_BIOS DATE: 04/21/06 17:48:44 VER: 08.00.12

Renderer ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 x86/SSE2

I went to the ATI driver update site and tried to download the driver for Mobility Radeons... It asked me to download a verification file... when i did it told me it was unable to install it on my computer...

    So.. my question is..

Where the hell do I go to get my drivers updated?

I think you answered your own question....
    ;) LOL

Anyway.... I went to the Asus web site, and the global and US servers are down, so these direct download links are for the China servers, but the files are the same, just they may take longer from the China servers (the drivers are HUGE files!!!)
    Windows XP http://dlsvr.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/Drivers/VGA/ATI/VGA_XP_080917.zip
Vista 32/64bit http://dlsvr04.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/Drivers/VGA/VGA_ATI_VT32_64_081226.rar (this server went down shortly after I posted this link, but I'm sure it will be up soon, if not, use the driver below)
    Vista 32/64bit http://dlsvr.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/Drivers/VGA/VGA_ATI_VT_01024.zip

Let us know if these work! The 2nd Vista driver will require TUGzip (freeware) or WinRAR ($hareware) to unzip as it is a .RAR file and uses a proprietary compression formula.

Thanks, I have Winrar, downloading right now.

Let you know how it goes when I'm done.

Yeah, those downloads are no help. When I install it says the same thing it did when I tried downloaded from the ATI site.

"Setup was unable to find driver compatible with your system"

What the hell ATI/Asus????? Makes things a little harder for me please.

    /sarcasm off.

    Hi

Which model ASUS Laptop do you have?

Do you have any yellow ! marks in Device Manager if so what are they next too?

What prompted you to need to install your drivers again, was it a re-install of Windows or just wanting to update? if it was a re-install then your likely to need to install the chipset drivers for your model PC first then the graphics driver.

Why the hell do they need to make things so complicated?

Asus S96J (might be a S96J II or something)

No yellow checks in device manager

Was just trying to update drivers. Whenever I start a game in Steam it always says mine are out of date and I should update them.
