Can't use adobe flash, can't not use it.

Firefox has blocked Adobe Flash. FF says it is unsafe somehow; not specific. Says to update from version 18 something to version 19. Says that is faster and really good for gaming and all other things I never do. Nor do I need to surf at the speed of wind; that only confuses me. [further]
So I followed ff's command and tried to download adobe flash 19 from its own site, about 20 times. I do know how to download, and I followed all instructions to a t. Everytime I get to the point where the "run" window comes up, I get this message: "Adobe download manager has encountered a problem and needs to close." which it does. I have looked all thru the adobe site for a version better suited to my computer, but can't find anyplace where they tell you that. While I am running windows xp ser pac 3, I think my processor is too slow. However, we did fine with ver 18 until ff blocked it. So how can I find a program ff approves that will work with my computer, or what else do you suggest.
    Thanks,
    alterintel

Firefox will disable flash if you are not running the newest version to prevent you from getting malware.
    Here is the download
    Code:
    http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_19_plugin.exe
    .
Download it, and close your browser. Then click on the exe you downloaded to install for non-IE browsers (except chrome).

That version I have running on XP and 7. So if you are running Vista, it should work on there too.

    Hi Plodr.
As always, thanks for your help. But this time when I clicked on the link you sent, I got something called a '404 error' saying this url was not on the server.

I just checked the link I posted and I get a popup for the download so it is working correctly.

You did copy and paste what was in the code box into the address bar of your browser, correct?
What browser are you using? (I tested it on Palemoon but I can try Firefox ESR which I also have installed).
