Ok, I have had this problem for several months now. My desktop computer is connected to a router, and I am able to connect to the internet from my other devices wirelessly through the network. However, I can't access the internet on the desktop itself. I can't even access the router information from my desktop. This started a few months ago after a guided virus/malware removal via another forum. Since that time, we have tried various things to remove it, including Combofix, but nothing has worked and we keep going around in circles trying he same things over and over again, so I got fed up and decided to try this forum out. Please give me any suggestions as I'm quite desperate at this point.

This is a follow-up to my original post from over a year ago. I never got a response, so out of frustration I left it aside but want to resume fixing this problem now since the laptop I was using in place of the desktop is no longer usable. Please send me any suggestions as to how to begin. I even bought a wireless network device and connected to the desktop but still have the same problem.

If you want more tips on fixing this, you might have better luck in the Malware Forum. Be sure to check out the "Read Me First" post, as it will give you a few additional tips on fixing things and what to include in your post if they don't work.

Short of this, the only option is to back up your files and do a fresh Windows install.

Can I have this thread moved to the malware forum?

    Try giving this a whirl:

This program will scan your boot sector for any malware. Many regular malware scans do not. It is a simple executable file, and does not install to the hard drive. If it needs an update, it will download in a .zip format. Simply extract the contents, and run the executable file.

It's a short scan, and should take less than a minute.

It would be best to first try the steps in the malware "Read Me First" thread. If these do not work, repost the problem in the Malware Forum as a new thread.
