can't use the search engine to get to microsoft downlaod center

why can't ii get to the Microsoft center using the search bar or bing ?It says " can not dsiplay page ".

Hi

Which Windows version are you using? as Vista and Windows 7 access Win upsate via Windows

Try clearing out your temp internet files and cookies and try again, also check to see if your firewall is not blocking windws update, and run a virus check

I have xp pro and ie8 now- i wanted to " remove and have ie7 as it loads fast and the start time from "restart " is much faster. Also mozila firefox would not connetc to major geeks either and it has always done that- so- - -- i reloaded ie8 and now thigs work but as usual the start time from shjort cuts is slow the way it always has been with ie8. Anythingi can do to speed it up ? I hae an older computer- pen iii 1gig- 512- 333mgh ram- can't upgrade anymore but it worked great with ie7.
