    I am running windows XP.
A website that I go to every day has recently been changed so they allow streaming of their shows. The site is fallsradio.com

When I try to go to the site, I get a blank page and it says it is done. I have ran CCleaner, and some scans, but no matter what, I can't get it to work.

Thanks for any help. They have a wonderful recipe page they update every week and I really miss it.

Thanks, but nope, I can't get it to open.
I have cleared everything I can think of. History, cache, cookies.

    Any other ideas?

Has your Internet Options Security settings changed recently?
Is this the only website giving you this problem?

As far as I know, nothing has changed.

BUT, just now my avast popped up that it couldn't update. Couldn't connect to the download website.

I know of AVAST by reputation only. (I use AVG)
Can you temporarily close it down and try your site again?

I tried that, but still nothing.

I might have to call the radio station and see what they suggest.

There must be something going on, though. I just tried to manually update avast and it still doesn't connect to the server.

I had a similar problem before, come to find out my virus protection software had gotten corrupt. I had to completely uninstall it and then reinstall it. Also personally I've seen multiple problems with Avast, might consider a new one.

Try again tomorrow. I was having a problem from noon to 3 pm Eastern Daylight time today. Not all websites load (I tried four computers at my house). I fianlly called Comcast and found out that there is a problem on their end, not mine.
Another fellow I chat with on the internet in Iowa on dsl is having similar problems.

    That's interesting.
During that same time (noon through about 2 or 3) I was having trouble with my connection to MajorGeeks. I was at work and tried 2 different computers and had the same problem with each one.
They weren't connected through Comcast, though.
The ISP there is called SBC (which is AT&T here in Michigan).
Probably just a coincidence, but odd just the same.

A new day and still more problems.
I tried again to access the site but couldn't. So now I tried with my laptop and that won't connect to it either. The fallsradio site is the only one I have noticed trouble with.

I had an idea and tried to open it with IE instead of FF which I usually use. It works in IE, so it is a problem with Firefox.

Do I have to just open this site with IE? Or is there a way to get Firefox to open it?

    Any help would be appreciated.

I just tried your site using Firefox and it opened right up for me.
If it opens for you with IE and not with FF then it is most likely there is something in the way the site is written (it's HTML) that your version of FF can't read.
Didn't you say that the site had been recently upgraded or changed?
You could try installing a new copy of FF (I'm using version 2.0.0.13).

I have the same/newest version of FF.

I guess I will just view that one with IE. I don't know what else to do.

    Thanks for your help.

I added it, thanks you sach.
It opens now in IE, but I had to allow Active X. That might be why it wouldn't open in FF

No,it is not an ActiveX issue. It opens up in FF for a few of us nd FF does not use ActiveX. I do not allow ActiveX in IE for the few rare times that I fire it up. I have it set to prompt.

Then I guess this will just be one of those things I never figure out.

oh well, I get it to open in IE.
    Thanks for the info plodr.

    Hi Gal

Try adding the site as in this text fallsradio.com to the Exceptions list of Firefox as Allow ( you may see many other blocked items in there if you use Spywareblaster or Spybot these are normal ) to add this goto in FF, Tools > Options > Privacy tab and then in the cookies section Exceptions button the paste the bold url into the Address of Site then click Allow.

Thank you halo, but that didn't help either. I think after work tomorrow I am going to call the radio station and see if they have any ideas.

Last thing I'll mention. There is a lot of Java script on that page, do your Java settings look like this: FF>Tools>Content tab>Advanced button next to Enable Java Script? I'm fairly certain they do but thought I would mention it just in case.

So, I got no help there at all.
She is going to ask their it person next time they are there and see if she can get me any ideas.
