can't view pictures or video online

    I can't view certain pictures or video online. I get a tiny box in the upper left corner with a circle, square & triangle of different colors in it. Does anyone know what this is and how to fix it? I would really appreciate any help available. I am using Windows XP home edition. My son says I need to download a plug-in, but I don't know which one or where to find it.

    could you give us one of the sites you are trying to view, so we can work out is its a plugin or it could be a security program you have blocking popups, images, video.

    Actually, the strangest thing happened this morning. I clicked on the windows update reminder icon at the bottom of my screen and d/l'ed the updates and all the pictures on the websites showed up! I don't know what happened, but it all seems fine now. Thanks a bunch for your time though. Will check back if it happens again. Thanks again!
