Does anyone have information on the off-site storage called Carbonite?

    Hi

Review here of it and its favourable http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/reviews/index.cfm?reviewid=1733

However I looked into this as an option and dismissed it for 2 reasons....

    1. Need a very good internet upload connection thats very stable, if like me you would have at least 25GB+ of data to save then that would take a while, plus with the way the internet works, its not unprone to data packet loss and this could corrupt a crucial file of yours!

    2. With it being a yearly subscription of £25

So I went with the option of using a software based backup solution to portable/secondary internal HDD, and using Acronis True Image 2009, works well and is only a one off cost, plus depending on what you are backing up there are some freeware software solutions. While the extra HDD is a higher expense than Carbonite, its more flexable IMHO.
