CardReader software Not Responding on Shutdown

I am running Windows XP SP2. I just installed a Simmax USB 2.0 Multi-Card Reader. It provides a driver that displays the differ Cards with a specific Icon. Whis I shutdown XP I always get the Error Box showing this CardReader is Not responding and have to end the program to continue the Shutdown.

Any ideas what the problem and how I can fix it.

The Generic Windows USB storage driver works fine.
