So I'm working on my AAS in IT and I really want to get into software development. So far I have learned Java, HTML, and CSS. Next semester I will be learning Javascript and C. I later want to push in the direction of AI and machine learning, and I am not opposed to learning from home with simple youtube tutorials.

Long term goals aside I have 2 very basic questions.

    1. What programming language(s) should I absolutely know before I start applying for jobs.
    2. Is it better to focus on being very good at a single language or somewhat good at multiple languages.
