CAS Latency

    what is the best CAS Latency for DDR400? i have 2-2-2-8 how much better can i get and how much better would it even be?

    if your ram is rated at 2-2-2-8, the first number is your cas latency, which is 2.0, and that is as low as it can go. If you are able to overclock your processor and keep those timings, you have some nice ram.

    All brands & models of DDR400 are different.
    Different brands support different Cas latency as well as the other timings.
    Best to start with manufactures reccomended timings, then test, if you set too agressive your rig will fail to boot, sometimes upping the voltage will help but too much voltage can toast your ram.
    Lower number timmings = faster, unlikely you will notice any speed differance with the naked eye.
