I have a few questions about PC Cases. Most notably, the difference between ATX and BTX. Ive scoured the internet, and havent been able to really find an answer, other than BTX is a 24 pin power connector, and a mirrored installation.

Also, apparently you cant install a BTX motherboard into an ATX case. Well, this is where my dillemma is.

My motherboard is an MSI MS-7093 which states that its a Micro-ATX MB. Which is fine, as you cant argue what the manufacturer states. It was part of an HP I bought, the a1130N, which I did some upgrades to, and swapped the cases. In the HP case, it was installed on the left side, but the new cause I bought, I could only install it on the right side. The case I bought is the Powmax CP2347SEL-2 which says its an ATX case. It installed without a problem, and Ive had no problems with it for about 2 years now.

The only thing, is that the add-on cards to the PCI and PCI-E slots are upside down. It doesnt really seem to have any real effect on anything, so it was never an issue. But right now, Im looking to get a new case, and if Im gonna buy a new case, I want it to be the correct case.

Now, is there really a huge difference between an ATX and BTX? From what Ive read, Im not supposed to be able to have the MB installed in the case I have, but it is, and it works. I just want to make sure that Im not gonna have any problems, if I end up having to get another ATX case, because I cant find a BTX case that I like. If I will have problems, are there adapters available that will let me install a BTX motherboard in a case made for an ATX motherboard?

Id really appreciate any help anyone can provide me. Im stalling on buying a new case because I want to make sure Im not gonna have huge problems down the road, and that the case I have right now was some sort of fluke or flaw that ended up allowing the BTX case to be used.

Also, why is my MB listed as ATX, when it seems to be a BTX, or is that just how the Micro-ATX boards look like?
