Hi........Larry here.....new member. Really like the site. Anyway, Recently purchased my first digital camera a Casio and photo loader is the software used by them for loading pics and such in albums. Anyway, when I go to view the albums I get the message that Internet Explorer has restricted this webpage from running script as it may be harmful........part of the control x stuff......new at a lot of this so bare with me. I have to keep clicking ok and allow many times before I can actually view my albums and pics. Went to Casio and they were of no help..........said to turnoff my ad blocker which I did but no help there. On further research of their site, I found out that they realized there was a problem due to Service Pack 2.....I am running Windows xp with SP2. They explained what was going on and it was the exact same thing I am experiencing........they had a new version of Photo Loader which supposedly would correct it. I downloaded it, but am still having the same problem. I emailed Casio about this over 2 weeks ago and no response from them at all. Has anyone else experienced this situation and found a fix or what I should do to alleviate the situation. THanks for taking time to read this and for any help you can offer. Best to all in 2007

    Hi

Yeah the new security additions in IE can be a royal pain at times but try this the site your going to is a legit one, the below may help.

You will need to add the URL ( eg,. to add Majorgeeks forum to that area I would put this http://forums.majorgeeks.com in the Add this Site box ) of the site to the security settings in IE in Tools > Internet Options > Security and click Trusted Sites > Sites button and paste the bold bit above into the Add this website into the Zone ( will need to untick the box at bottom ) then click add and retick the box at bottom Close and OK ~ I'd say this is better way than say disabling the whole of scripting as it will allow any site to run scripts, best to only have sites you deem ok to allow scripting.

also you can add the URL of the Casio site to the Popup blocker settings in IE, to aid in not getting those blocks either, goto Tools > Popup Blocker > Popup Blocker Settings and paste the URL into the top box and Add.

Thanks Halo........hope you get this as this is the first time I have used this forum. Will give this a try.........I had thought of this before, but not sure how to add a trusted site. I can't remember seeing the Casio site name when using photo loader but will look for it...........the URL I guess is what you call it. Anywho, can't understand why the photo loader would have to access a site outside of the computer just to use my photo loader program that is installed in the computer.........but then again, what do I know? I know a lot of folks don't like Internet Explorer but it is what I first used and am familar with...........some folks prefer Firefox I think is what it is called.
Casio has been of no help..........like I said before, they realized there was a problem and issued a newer version of photo load which I downloaded but it still does the same thing..........I brought this to their attention over 2 weeks ago and still have not heard anything from them. What is really odd is that 2 days ago, I went to use photo load and it worked perfectly.........no problems at all.........the next day I went to use it and it was the same thing all over again.

    Hi

I think the reason Casios Photo Loader wants access to the internet or the Browser is that its software is based around using IE as its Viewing software.

I guess this is what you have already read and actioned to cure the issue http://world.casio.com/qv/support/en/info/winxp_sp2.html as you are correct their is no URL to a Casio site, have you actioned Method A & B to resolve this?

Yes it could be an option to use Firefox but I would imagine the Casio software is written around using IE only.

Hey Halo..........Larry here........finally got a chance to try some stuff......rather busy weekend and not much time to spare at the old computer. When I open my photo loader, the line at the very top of my computer (showing where I am like yahoo site or in this case while on geeks it shows the http geek thing. ANyway, in the line it shows c:\programfiles\casio\photo loader\library_1.htm I tried adding that to my trusted sites and it didn't like that.........I tried again, by unchecking the litte box and again, no luck. I did add the casio web site www.casio.com to the list and it took but that didn't solve the problem either.........also added it to my allowed pop up blocker trusted sites. I know Option A from Casio is basically uplifting all security for everything and not happy doing that. Option B is basically live with it and keep checking allowed and ok boxes as needed. Will probably keep doing option B unless I can figure out something else without jeopardizing my security settings or maybe casio will do something else to fix the issue. Anyway appreciate all your help and advice.......have a good one
