G'Day all from Australia. :) Could anyone help me. :confused I want to use Cat 5 cable to run low DC voltages, (5, 6, 9, 12, 15) and currents, ( up to 1amp) around my model railroad layout for lighting of signals, houses etc using LED's.

What would be the maximum DC voltage and Current I could use.

    Many thanks.

It should handle an Amp in your setup. If you are getting a voltage 'drop' over a longer run, just add another pair of wires to the circuit (in parallel). If you plan on using Cat5 connectors, then make sure there is no power flowing, if you need to disconnect one. These connectors are only designed to interrupt a few milliamps at most, and badly corrode once the gold leaf has been destroyed by interrupting larger current flows.
