catalyst vs. omega

Anyone here prefer the omega drivers to the catalyst? I just recently tried the omegas for my radeon 9800 pro and seem to get slightly better frame rates out of it. Anyone have bad luck with the omegas?

 

i haven't yet...i tried the 4.2's and since the cat's sucked, the omega's sucked as well. but when ati fixed the issues i was having with the 4.3's i started using the omega 4.3's and they run well. the omega 4.4's will probably be out soon with the release of the 4.4 cat's.

Got the new ones... they work well for me.

 

I installed the 4.4's last night and I got the same results as the 4.2's on my 9200. Looks like I'm staying with the 4.3's

I've tried all 3 and to tell you the truth I really don't see a difference in perfomance or quality when using the "modded ones or the CAT's. I just like the extra junk the modded ones come w/ like radlinker, atitool, multires....

 

never seen vissualy any improvement from cat v. omega ; but they say omegas increase IQ over the cats.

Easy way : Start, Run, dxdiag, display. Should be listed in the driver version

Hmm... what do the DNA drives actualy DO? I realise the Omega drivers increace quality, but what do the DNA ones do? I might try them out...

 

according to some people Omega = better quality and DNA = better speed... While I have seen fps increase using DNA drivers, the gain is so small that it doesn't really matter, IMHO.

just installed the DNA ones, but awaiting a reboot to see em working. Hopefully they dont kill the system!

 

I'm afraid to update my Radeon Drivers with latest one cause they give me both disadvantage and advantage. I rather get the right version of the drivers that suit well for my games I like.

 

it is a chance you will have to take . if the new drivers dont work you can always roll the drivers back. it is trail and error
