    hi can anyone tell me the difference between wiping freespace and deleting on cc cleaner

    Greetings, harrygodfrety.

    Normally, the CCleaner method is similar to every other 'files cleaner':

    Deleting: marks the drive space containing the files as off limits - the data is still present, but the files and space are not accessible by a GUI. The data can still be accessed by low-level block reading forensics software.

    Wiping: actually overwrites the space containing the data with whatever algorithm that is employed by the specific cleaner. The data is now, for all intents and purposes, pretty much gone forever.
