I have a problem with Ccleaner, in the issues menu i am trying to fix 31 issues. The solution is telling me to Delete the registry value.

After fixing, am still have the same issues. Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Reboot, and rerun ccleaner.

See if that helps any. Some cases I found that ccleaner will mark certain registry entries for deletion, but windows will not delete them until a reboot.

Do you mean re install ccleaner?

If not i have restarted the PC with no change.

No, reboot the computer, then rerun ccleaner. As in run it again, not re-install it.

I've also noticed that sometimes, one must re-run the issues portion of ccleaner again and again.

Let's reiterate your steps. You open CCleaner and click on Issues. Next, you click on the button titled "Scan for Issues" (see link). It finds 31 items or issues. You click on "Fix selected issues". CCleaner displays a message suggesting you backup the registry and you can choose to do so or proceed without doing so. Either way, you proceed to allow CCleaner to fix the 31 issues. Is that right?

And, then, if you run another scan soon after this, CCleaner finds the same 31 issues again. Is that right? If so, what are those items, or at least some of them? If you have a major malware infestation, you may need to use other tools to clean your system.

Yes, they are mostly activeX/com ones whatever that is. Also the word ulead is in the same line which is i guess is photoshop which i uninstalled a few days ago.

Hmmm, this is why i don't like registry cleaners. You really need to be familiar with what you are doing, not let a program decide whats best.

Ulead does not make Photoshop, Adobe does.

Have you tried to use another Registry Cleaner?

CCleaner is great but you could also try EasyCleaner, its free and really good. Or you could download the trial version of jvPowerTools. If these dont remove the problems then theres something really not right eh?

May be worth a try? ;)

Yeah, you may need a more aggressive registry cleaner. Nice thing about CCleaner is that it's very safe. But, in my view, that may be because it's not as aggressive, and not as risky, as other registry cleaners. Keep in mind CCleaner is multi-purpose utility; it's a disk cleanup tool as well as registry cleaner. I believe many of the single-purpose, i.e. registry cleaning only, programs are more aggressive in their removing of registry entries.

Let us know how it goes with whatever registry cleaner you try, assuming you proceed in that direction.

I have seen this problem many times on the CCleaner forum. The solution that usually works is to run the "Repair Permissions" tool in Dial-a-fix .
