    CCleaner Portable 5.65.7632 = Yes
CCleaner Portable 5.66.7705 = Emphatic NO
Settings will have a mind of its own...

    CCleaner Portable 5.66.7716
Still trying, but still versions after 5.65.7632 do not save settings.
Try this in Options - Settings, check "Custom Clean", close CCleaner, open CCleaner, now "Custom Clean" is not checked.

CCleaner 566 Portable is missing "Configuration settings" file and therefore unable to save "Settings".
As a workaround fix added the file from 565 Portable version.

More specifically the Configuration settings (.ini) file found in the CCleaner Portable folder.

I watched the thread over in the other forums. It's strange that the 5.66 version isn't creating a .ini file for you. I also use CCEnhancer and have had no problems with saved settings from CCleaner or CCEnhancer like you did.

But are you using 566 portable?
I am, and tried both direct and Geeks with both missing the file.

    Yep. Portable 5.66.7716.

When I download a new version I cut/paste only CCleaner.exe into the old folder so the .ini already exists and has my settings. Maybe that is why.

That would explain you not missing the file which remains in the folder, guessing you did not look at the file date?

But having not compared features of 566 to earlier versions I would surmise it is possible that features might of been added in 566 that would not be supported with an earlier configuration file. In any event the file should be included in the download.

I just downloaded a new copy of 5.66 and it created a .ini file when I opened CCleaner and saved my settings when closed/opened multiple times. Do you have the box checked to save the settings in the Options > Advanced setting?

I also just downloaded a new copy of 5.66 and it also created a .ini file when I opened CCleaner and also saved my settings.
Made a new folder from my old 566 zip and it too now makes the file.

I have Changed nothing in my Windows 10 computer. Very strange, Penny Lane.

BTW, Save all settings to INI file is greyed out and permanently checked.

    All is well.

It's best not to use CCleaner for a while.Don't trust Avast to fix there issues.Heck they still have not fixed Speccy for AMD ryzen cpu for temp readings.
