CD Back-up Unreadable! Need help

I back-up data monthly on to CD using Adaptec's Easy CD Creator 4.0.

The last time I did this, I cannot retrieve the data back from the CD. I get the following message when I try to copy the file back to the hard drive...

"Windows is unable to find file. This item may have been already deleted or moved..."

The CD shows 460MB of stored data. All folders and files show when I open the CD window, but unlike the original files, the files show as "read only" in the porperties menu. I did not specify this.

I have tried to open the files from within the original applications but get this message...

"The file cannot be accessed.The file may be read only,or you may be trying to access a read only location..."

I have also tried to change properties on the CD as well. AND, I have tried accessing the CD from another PC. I'm running Windows ME on my Dell Inspiron 8000, 256MB RAM on a 10GB hard drive. 1.15 GB unused.

DOES ANYONE KNOW ANOTHER WAY TO ACCESS THE DATA ON THIS CD, OR IS THERE A DATA RETREIVAL APPLICATION I CAN TRY??

Please tell me the data can be saved!
