can anyone confirm a microsoft windows xp cd has a menu option that will allow running the file and system transfer program? my dell windows xp cd does not have that on the menu.

I have a hard drive with corrupted windows files, I can boot with ubutu? cd and see all my files on the hard drive, windows repair or recovery no help, cannot boot to safe mode. I have a few months old restore file, but would really like to get all the new files, emails, etc I would get by running FAST program.
    thanks

If you have the XP installation CD, this information may help.

thanks for the link, but those instructions assume windows is running on the computer and you access the cd rom from window start command.

hope this link to come thru.
