I have a question for you people reading this. I have used 3 different programs to burn a cd and several different types of cd's and when I go to burn my music at the end of the cd there is some static or crackling noise that is louder than the music and I think I have tried everything. So is my burner going bad.

This is a fairly difficult question to answer in its present format. Are you running any other programs while burning your CDs? Are you copying the music from the HD or from another CD? Have you tried burning the CD at a lower speed to see if that has any effect?

The fact that you have the same problem with 3 different burning programs points to either an external source for the noise or as you suggest the CD writer itself but if you could give us some more information it would make it easier to make a judgement. ;)
