CD burner doenst show anything in it??

    Have a prob with my CD/DVD burner. When you put a cd, blank or actual store bought audio cd, it shows that nothing is in the drive. I contacted the company they had me update the firmware and ASPI but that didnt help. Only thing it did was make the tray open and close slower, didnt change the fact nothing shows . any help would be great.

    the drive plays dvds but not cds

    Well, make sure you did infact install the latest firmware first. Then, call the company again, and pray that you are under warrenty. Same thing happened to me, only opposite, (drive played cd's and not dvds. didn't read any blank discs) and Sony replaced my drive.

    firmware is 150i, that was the one the company gave me.
    i think my warrenty may be up, it was only for a yr and the drive is about a yr old.
