   I say you cannot burn to a dvd with a regular cd burner. Am I right or wrong? I believe you have to have a special dvd burner to do that. Please advise.

   Cd Writer will write to blanc CD's.
   DVD writer will do both.
   
   Nowadays having a DVD writer is the way to go.
