cd burning,file-spliting

i am trying to burn a larde file(798,124,348bytes) on a cd-r 80 min,700mb cd,but its too large to fit onto one cd,which im not sure why ive burned bigger fies on one disk and still have room left for another video.someone suggested file-splitting,a process i have absolutely no idea how to do.i downloaded a file-splitter,evidently i did split it,but i dont know the next step.do i just put a cd in and get part of the file on that disk,then get another blank cd to burn the rest of the file?thanks,any help welcomed

Video/audio files generally burn in Mode 2. Data files burn in Mode 1. Basic difference is that Mode 2 allows for errors to exist in the data stream, but Mode 1 doesn't.

ok,i downloaded hjsplit pro and it is currently splitting the file.what is my next step after its through splitting the file,and how long does it take to split the file?

i think i better give up on my file-splitting career,lol.last nite i went to bed with 3 gb of free space,but when i turned on the computer this morning i now only have 1 gb of free space.the only thing i can think of that would cause such a dramatic change in my free space is that maybe when i tried splitting that file,i somehow i created a load of useless files!would that cause such a dramatic drop in free space?thats the only thing i can think of,because i havent added any new programs and generally keep about 3gb of free space.i did a scan disk and my boot area is reporting the space correctly.can anyone tell me if the file-splitting could have done this,thanks
