I am doing an article on CD Burners. I was wondering if any of you vets of the tech remember how much a pack of writable CDs cost back when they first came out? And did they sell them in 25, 50, and 100 packs, or individualy? Any help is appreciated.

i remember 6 years ago or so, 50 packs would cost about $70-80 at fry's, and 100 packs probably go for $140. The cheapest i could find (that weren't insane deals) went for $1.30 a disc in a 10 pack with jewel cases (oddly enough)

Insane deals would be discs that go for <$.80 cents a disc and could be found at Microcenter.

Unfortunately, i can't tell you anything about online shopping for cd's back then.

I can remember at some point years ago thinking a 10-pack in jewel cases for $14.95 was a great deal at Sam's Club. (To burn on my $500 NEC 3X SCSI burner.)
