cd/dvd drive

    My DVD drive whirs away slowly on many cd's/dvd's, sometimes grinding to an end 3/4 of the way through a burn from cd to mp3 on hard drive (itunes). Is there a diagnostic test of some sort that I can run built somewhere in xp? One that would also autofix any issues?
