Can anyone suggest a safe site to download a driver for my DVD/CD-ROM drive? The drive model is NEC DV-5700A. I've searched and keep coming up with questionable sites that I don't feel comfortable with.

    Thanks for your time. :)

Computer specs. and operating system would be helpful in this situation. Windows provides drivers that work with most CD/DVD devices during installation. If an additional driver is required it is usually a DOS driver, but I haven't ran into this issue since Win95. :)

Thanks for reply Novice. Its a 4 year old Gateway with Win98SE. I recently formatted and clean installed OS and am having trouble getting drivers reinstalled. Been fighting with SoundBlaster driver for 2 days and still have no sound. Then tonight I inadvertently wiped out the NEC DV 5700A driver. Help !!!!

It took a lot of searching, but I found the driver that you wanted at driverguide.com, for the NEC DV 5700A. I didn't download it for you, but am referring you to the site where you can. I don't understand why you need it, but that is where it can be downloaded from. SoundBlaster driver might be found there also. :)
