CD/DVD ROM intermitent failure

    I have a HP HDX 9300 with all the stock appliances. Recently, the CD/DVDROM has been acting up. It seems to not want to read cd's when i put them into the drive. However i have noticed that if i disable the drive the re-enable it, it still wont let me run the cd normally, but i can right click on it and choose explore then open what i need from there..

    anyone have any ideas or experiences to troubleshoot or possibly fix this?
