I have a TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552L burner on my hp computer that is not responding i.e. not playing or reading any cd or dvds. I have eliminated lower filters that were connected to a dvd burner program, unistalled and reinstalled it and I do not have a back up storage of it. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you

Does it show up in device manager or in windows explorer? Do you have a Gateway PC? I remember a while back some of the new Gateway Vista machines had the same problem.

There's download links at the bottom of the article for the reg entries. Double click it and agree to the do-you-want-to-merge-this-into-the-registry question and reboot.

I have Windows XP. I downloaded that program that it tells me to at the bottom of that page you directed me too, but it seems as though nothing happened. It does show up in my computer and device manager says that it is working properly. I did download one click dvd and dvd43 had a filter in it that I removed. I still have one click but I took off dvd43. I dont know if I need to take anything else off for it to work though.

After you download the file from the bottom of the page I linked to above, you have to double click on the file you downloaded to your PC. It will ask if you're sure you want to merge the info into your registry. You must answer Yes, or Continue, or whatever it is. When it's done (it should only take a second), you should reboot your PC. You never did answer the question as to whether or not the drive appears in the Device Manager, and if it is listed, is it "clean"? Meaning: are there no question marks or exclamation points in the Device Manager?

dlb, The device manager says that the device is working properly. I did download that program and went through all the steps and said yes and rebooted the computer and nothing happened.
