CD-emulation software all of a sudden?

Recently, I had to run ComboFix to get rid of some malware and it gave me a message that said "ComboFix has detected CD-Emulation software running on this computer. ComboFix will disable it temporarily". And then it had me restart the computer before ComboFix started its run.

Im puzzled about this because, to my knowledge, we dont have any such software on this computer. And I had ran ComboFix here a lot before and it never gave me such message.

So Im wondering, why do you all think the message popped up all of a sudden?

Do you think it could have something to do with my sister installing some crappy "EZ-Tracks Download Manager" or something (it was a "1000 songs for free" scam, and she fell for it)?

I dont see anything that shouldnt be there in the "Installed Programs" list either.

Thanks for any help and for reading this.

Any program that is used for ISO type files would most likely be the emulator. PowerIso, MagicISO, Daemon Tools, Alcohol52-100% etc. I think Microsoft has something called Virtual Drive that might also be a drive emulator.

Have you installed any new burning software recently?

No, I havent installed any burning software.

I recall Daemon Tools being installed on the computer when we first got it, but I got rid of it and Ive been running ComboFix often (my family gets that PC infected a lot), and it never gave me that message.

    Hi,
I have the same problem. Did you find a solution for it? Thanks.

I'm sad to say I didn't find a solution, but then again, I haven't had the need to run Combofix in a good while, so I don't know if the problem would still be there if I did run it now.

Step six in the Read and Run First instructions:
You could check using the above.Run defogger and then see if Combo makes the same message.

    Defogger didn't help :confused
