CD rom drive- how?

i have an existing pc (old)
Computer 1:
win 98se (custom made)
P2 with dvd rom (cd burner)

and as of now im using:
Computer 2:
XP Sp2 (HP desktop)
P4 with cd rom (cd burner)

yesterday i transfer the dvd rom from Computer 1 to Computer 2 and vice versa

Porblem:
now when i restart the Computer2 the light in cd rom is blinking but i noticed that the DVD rom cant be access and cant be read (when i double click My Computers i see nothing regarding cd rom)

Question:
what i must do to repair this problem?
can somebody expplain me step by step?
is it needs to change something in the Bios? how do i get to Bios?

Check the Master/Slave settings on the back of the drive.

If it's only one drive being used on a controller, then it should be set to Master.

If you are using two, one should be Master, and one Slave.

As for getting into bios, it's been a while since I had to do it on an HP computer, but try F8, del, and F1, as it's counting memory. If that doesn't work, try F2, or holding down a key on the keyboard while it's trying to restart. Eventually it'll give you an error, and give you the option to enter setup.

Don't forget also that if you pull a second drive from a computer to put as the lead in another to change the jumper. I needed a new CD, and it wouldn't recognize it, I'd forgotten the jumper.
