CD Rom drivers for 64 bit?

I've got win 64 installed an a 4400 X-2 1 gig memory asus A8N-SLI mobo. The Cd roms are a nec cd-rw dvd r/w and a Acer 50x
I had a old cd rom in it but took it out and installed the above now I can't get either to work. Bios sees then and thet are in system devices so I assume it's a driver problem. I tried uninstalling them, rebooting but I get "there was a problem installing your hardware and it may not work " message thingy. I've spent hours looking for a cure, no luck. Where or what do I do or go to?
