Cd-rom Mia?????????

    I have an old Samsung CD-ROM drive...and out of the blue it just up and disappeared. Its not present when i look for itin explorer and it is also missing in my computer. Can anybody help me?

    Samsung SC-140 is the Model Name

    Im using Windows 2000

    Check your power cable, and IDE cable to make sure they have good connections. When you boot up, look for the lights on the CD-Rom. If they light up, then your computer detects the drive, and is trying to read it. If they don't light up, then the drive could be dead.
